One of the best things you can do to stimulate your lymphatic system is to practice dry brushing. Buy yourself a soft natural bristle brush (bath brushes with the long handle works well) and brush your bare skin. It is best to do this in the shower before you take a shower as you will be sloughing off lots of skin which in turn will get your lymph moving in an effort to “clean up” the mess you are making of the largest organ in your body, your skin. Brush strokes should be swift and short always moving toward your heart. Check out this video to see how to do it.
Here is what I get asked a lot from people who need INTENSE WORKOUT OR DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE PAIN RELIEF: I am notorious for doing workouts that literally wreck my body. I also get these super deep tissue massages from my sport’s therapist. If I don’t do what I am going to tell you, then I can hardly even move sometimes the pain is so intense. But EVERY TIME I DO THE BELOW DIRECTLY AFTER MY WORKOUT OR DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE I effectively remove the toxins that cause that intense pain and I can work out no problem the next day. It as if I never worked out the day before. Please do exactly as I say and YOU WILL BE WOWED! Go to the store and pick up 3-4 bags of Epsom Salt. EVERY TIME you do an intense workout or get a deep tissue massage, take a detox bath directly after (if you wait more than 6 hours you will have a harder time removing the toxins) before you take your actual shower. Go home, fill the tub with hot water, only deep enough to cover the tops of your thighs. Pour in 4 cups of Epsom Salt and add 10 drops of Melaleuca Oil and 10 drops of Panaway. Soak your legs first for 15 minutes. Top off a little more hot water. Then soak your torso, neck, and arms for another 15 minutes. I will sit under the water with my eyes closed and just my nose sticking out. My husband thinks I’m nuts but then he will do the same thing BECAUSE IT WORKS. Once you are done with the bath, take your normal shower. When you get out, apply either Panaway or Melaleuca oil directly on your sore areas, backs, thighs, triceps, neck. Whatever hurts. If you have sensitive skin cut it down with a carrier oil like Jojoba. Then put a towel on your bed and relax for a bit. Take deep breaths from the oils left on your hands. When I do a 50 mile bike ride I know I need to also plan time for my detox bath or else I will be super sorry for 3 days to come. I promise you, this will WOW you but you need to follow the directions to a tee. xo ~ Jen

So many people want to detox. They understand that over the years they have built up something, they may not know exactly what, but that it MUST be detoxified. They will go on full body cleanses, colon cleanses, fasts, pills, all sorts of things. Before you do any of that, it is super important to diagnose specifically WHAT you need to detoxify. Zyto scans are a good way to find out however if you do not have access to one you can always do it the old fashioned way: think. Think about what you have done to your body. What foods do you typically eat? Do you even get ANY fruits and veggies in and if you do are they the usual suspects over and over (yep, we are SUCH creatures of habit.) Do you drink a lot of alcohol or did you drink a lot of alcohol and may have damaged your liver? Do you drink more than 1 cup of coffee a day (do you know how many chemicals are in coffee)? Do you use modified food stuffs like items that contain GMOs, artificial sweeteners, and/or low fat/zero fat foods? Do you smoke? Do you live with someone who does? Do you live or work in an area that you are getting second hand smoke? How is your air quality where you live? How about inside your home? Has your air filter been changed recently? Has your air ducts been cleaned? More importantly has your furnace ever been cleaned? What cleaning products do you use that come in contact with your skin? What lotions do you use every day? These are just a small sampling of questions you need to consider when you want to detox your body. If you try to do a detox but don’t also correct some of these issues then you are wasting your time, energy, and money on ANY detox you undergo.
One of the BEST ways to detox your body is from a cellular level. That is where Essential Oils come in. I only recommend Young Living. I have many many reasons for this and you can see info on why HERE. EO’s are a therapy and all out war when you start. Often times people get EO’s for their healing and preventative qualities when it comes to general illness. If you buy oils and treat them like a “pill” to alleviate the pain or wipe out a cold like over the counter drugs do, you are in for a surprise and major disappointment. You cannot just keep them in your cabinet and once you have the flu use them once or twice. It is like using a water bottle to put out a house fire. It just won’t work. When I said EO’s are a therapy I meant it in the way any normal therapy works. You just don’t go in for one session and are back to normal. You need to go in consistently and repeatedly. Once you get on a regimen your body will be better shielded from common things, but you need to use them regularly. Also, when you feel the first signs of any illness you need to ramp up your oil use. Better yet, seriously view it as all out war. Oils on your feet, oils in capsules, oils in your diffuser, oils cupped in your hands multiple times a day to deeply breath in.
Oils are massively detoxifying. If you have a lot of oxidative stress (bad eating and other enviro issues and low immune system) then when you first use EO’s you WILL experience detox symptoms. Even kids will have detox symptoms (we realistically do not feed them what they should be eating). Some detox symptoms are “flash detox” meaning a rash will appear for and hour or you will be headachey on and off for a day or two while other times you will actually get “sick” from detoxing. Sinuses will over-act and you will feel flu-like. Yes, this is from the oils. It will pass as I always tell anyone that uses them who are experiencing this that the oils are working. They are like little cellular armies that are working overtime to clear out all the bad. Let the armies do their work and you do your part by eating better and cleaning up your environment.
ALL oils are detoxifying so if you use any, you will naturally detox however some oils have a stronger effect. Here are some to consider:
General Full Body Detox: Lemon will naturally detox so you can use this on your feet in the morning along with the Purification or Melaleuca. Drink 16 ounces of water with 1-2 drops of Lemon and Peppermint (add more water if too strong or place drops into capsules and swallow.
Circulation: This is key to detoxifying your body. Peppermint is perfect for this.
Skin, Colon, Stomach: Grapefruit oil (not in the kit, can be order separately)
Liver: Geranium is great (not in the starter kit, can be order separately).
Home Detox: Filter Citrus Fresh through a diffuser throughout the house and/or place a bottle of Citrus Fresh or Melaleuca or Purification oil upside down on a new air filter in your home and run the air for an hour (or you can drop about 30 drops all over a new filter and let the air run for an hour.)
If you want an extremely effective detox that is all natural without the huge expense of buying a detox system, get yourself some oils listed above and do a 3 day organic juice fast. Juice fasting is amazing and coupled with oil use can radically improve your whole system. I recommend doing this quarterly.

Energy is something I hear over and over again that people just need more of. We do way too much and then end up sitting on our couch in a slum… a literal fog of confusion as to what to do next. For me when I am overwhelmed with too much to do my mind and body with revolt and just sit there staring at the wall. Ha! I know you’ve been there, we all have. Here are my top 5 tips on how to gain more energy:
Kick your coffee! I know I know, but how, right? We are so addicted to the stuff, and it works! Technically coffee saps your energy. If you get fully off coffee your body will retrain itself how to get natural energy. No, you do not need it to wake up in the morning. The best way to wake up is to drink a glass of water (put 1-2 invigorating lemon oil drops in your glass) and if the sun is out, look up into the light. The sun as well as the H2O in water are both natural energy boosters.
Drink more water. At a minimum we need half our body weight in ounces of water. For instance, if you at 150lbs you need 75 ounces of water per day. This will alleviate a bunch of other issues. One being circulation. If you put a 1-2 drops of peppermint oil in your water it will increase your blood circulation and give you more energy. Don’t put too much. It is strong.
Eat Better Foods: WE all know this but how many of us fail over and over again. That burger is just too good. OK if you won’t become a health nut at least consider damage control. Fruits and veggies work as anti-oxidants. When we eat poorly our bodies get filled with TONS of oxidation. They are basically nutritional free radicals that wreak havoc on our whole body thus declining our energy and making us sad and depressed. Eating the good for you stuff like fruits and lots and lots of veggies brings armies of nutrients to fight the free radicals. SOOO the idea here is try to eat more anti-oxidants and oxidants. Build up a stronger army of defense. Eat a burger, then make sure you eat a HUGE salad. Eat some fries, then eat a bunch of blueberries for desert. Simple.
BREATH! Often times we forget to simple take deep breaths. What we ingest is crucial to our health, however what we breath and how we breath is also crucial to our health. When you watch a baby breath, their tummy goes up and down. When we breath, our chest raises up and down. That is a sign of us taking too short of breaths. Spend 5 minutes today on your back with your hands on your tummy and breath slowly in and out with as full a breath as you can and concentrate on your tummy expanding with your lungs rather than just the top part of your lungs. A good way to energize your 5 minutes of breath work is to put a few drops of lemon oil or citrus fresh oil or peppermint oil (or mix all three) into the palms of your hands, rub them together and take a deep breath over your cupped hands. Then rub the left over on your feet.
Use Essential Oils: The interesting thing about oils is that most all of them have a “wake up” and “alertness” about them that just simply using any oil will give you more energy. They all work at the cellular level creating a synergistic effect in your body. Because of this, be careful what you use at night time before bed as you will suffer insomnia if you use the wrong thing at night.
If you want more info on the oils I use please ask. There are so many out there and quite frankly there is only one worth buying. Sorry gals (and the amazing guys that read my blog) but that is just a fact. I have done a ton of research and testing on this stuff so don’t waste your money by buying something that is at the grocery store. For those of you who don’t have time to ask, or have no energy to ask, then take it from me, your “Health Hound Dog” and just order your kit of Essential Oils now. Here is a link to get you going: Young Living and if you need a little hand holding check out this on our Lemon Dropper site. Tons of info but this is a walk through on ordering. Let me know if you want to chat! I LOVE talking about this stuff.
It is important to consider allergens to foods that you may have. The top food allergens are: wheat, corn, dairy, eggs, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, sesame, fish, and seafood. Try doing an elimination diet to find out what you may be allergic to. Take out every allergen for 2 weeks. You need to give your body a chance to detox from it all. Then add one back in and see how you react. Take a full 24 hours after you eat the allergen to see if you will have a reaction. Sometimes you won’t feel it until the next day. Look at how you feel, are you tired, bloated, itchy, constipated, have diarrhea? Consider how you slept, did you have nightmares or toss and turn? Consider your emotions, are you irritated, easily angered? If you feel totally normal after eating an allergen, then go onto the next one. If you feel any symptoms, then stop eating it and go on to the next allergen on the list and eat that. Hope that makes sense. This is a really great place to start if you have chronic issues in any area of mental or physical health.
If you can, just drink water and herbal teas. Pretty much everything else is bad for you. DO NOT DRINK SODA and definitely DO NOT DRINK DIET SODA. For all you Diet Coke drinkers I can guarantee you have an enormous amount of cellulite that you just can’t figure out where you got it. Aspartame = Cellulite. For all you wind drinkers out there: you are kidding yourself if you think a glass of wine is good for you. You can get your antioxidants and heart healthy nutrition from other sources like berries rather than justify drinking alcohol full of sugar (bad for you carbs) with only a small amount of good for you anything. Same thing as eating dark chocolate is good for you. Sure, if you eat the purest form of dark chocolate but then it really does not taste good so why bother.
Our walk with God is essential and paramount to all others areas in our lives however heath is a key component of that sanctification. You won’t be able to study the Word and memorize it well if your brain is foggy because of a poor diet. Realistically if you are more than 20-30 lbs over weight or have poor cardio ability, God is limited in what things he can have you do in service to him. Of course you will be used, but think of the things you may not be used for because you would not physically be able to. I know people who would never sign up for a missions trip because they would not be able to walk as much as is needed. Or others who can’t go on retreats because they are too over weight to share a bed or are on breathing machines that would disturb the room and would probably be fixed if they lost the extra weight. Not only are you missing out on witnessing opportunities but also ones that would bless you as well.
If you are overweight, have a poor cardio ability, are eating the wrong foods that make you foggy, or just want to “tighten the ship” then I encourage you to get on board with our Temple Sweep. Your body is where the Holy Spirit dwells and quite frankly our temples are a mess. Deplorable, really. And even if you are thin, you are not off the hook here. I would say I am pretty much at my “goal weight” but my brain gets so foggy sometimes with the bad food choices I make. I see a HUGE difference in my ability to concentrate and understand God’s Word when I eat clean. I also have WAY more energy and eagerness to go out and share the gospel. The days I eat poorly are the days I want to stay inside and do nothing. That is a big FAIL on your ability to do your job correctly. We are called to be ambassadors and sitting inside all day does nothing to promote the gospel. I am guilty of this sin (I call it a sin, because in reality what I eat can cause me to sin) and I want to do better. I want to honor and love God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, and with all my strength! (Mark 12:30). And let’s face it ladies, if you are over weight and are not married, you will feel way better about dating if you loose those LBs and if you are married, you better believer your husband will be blessed and honored with a skinnier you. Just sayin’.
Are you ready to get started! If so, I don’t want you to do this alone. I want you to agree to accountability and find someone you can do this Sweep with. We will all mess up and none of us are perfect, but there is a reason doing things together helps us stick to it. Start by committing to just 7 days. Anyone can do anything for 7 days. You can do this! I am excited and hope to see your comments and questions on the posts as you work through your 7 days to a cleaner Temple!
